Hi. I'm after some advice! The turbo on my cosworth needs reconditioning as it is letting alot of oil past the seals and it has quite alot of play in the shaft. Is it a job I will be able to so myself or am I best sending it to a specialist and paying for it to be sorted. I'm a ford mechanic n reckon I could hav a good go at it but wondered if anyones familiar with what it involves n could tell me whether it's a nightmare job or anything! Kits are cheap in comparison to sending the unit somewhere to be fixed so obviously would prefer to do it myself if possible! Thanks for any replys.

tbh i would go for a rebuild as you might only get charged Ł200-300 with a warrenty and balanced so will last if you intend to keep !

 

That's what I'd do as well, get a 360 bearing and step gap seal done at the same time whilst it is being done.

i always use cr turbos they will collect and deliver and turn the job around very quick
