i got a nice shiney new vin plate at ford fair only prob is i dont no how or where to get it stamped...any ideas or advice??

i dont think you will have much luck getting it stamped if its off the stand at ford fair where he was selling all the different badges etc.. then he knows a bloke that does em. I was going to buy one from him however i just brought a custom engraved one off Monster from here.

Im pretty sure even ford dont do them anymore they want stupid money for a replacement vin and its one of the new style sticker types.
I may be wrong but for the hassle and cost id rather have one of theses:

 

Find someone with some mirror punches and do it yourself, there basically punches you stamp with from behind rather than down on top.

 

what about a trophy shop ?

 

I got mine engraved at the trophy shop and then the engraver coloured in the grooves to give the digits some depth.

Yeah Monster is the man! Looks the muts nuts under the boonet he does the colour plate as well if you want it.

I had some stuff from monster before and his work is always perfect.

Is it legal to change to a custom made vin plate as long as it has all details etc?

 

Ford still stamp them - will cost a few quid but you get it done correctly.

I also have plates made by Dave and the work is awesome and cheap too.

 

ford will do youa vin plate if they supply it but

it wont have all the details an origianl will have on it and they require proof of ownership, then they have to let the police know who come out to inspect the car before ford will issue a new vin plate
