ok folks i know its been asked about 5 million times,
and ive read up a fair bit on this
now i know you can use the granada cosworth hub flanges to give you a 5x112 pcd
but that limits you to staying within mercs, audi iirc ,
i know you could poss get away with wobbly wheel nuts to got 2 mm either war and run vw 5x110 ect ,
but what if you wanted to say run a jap wheel 5x114 , could be done on wobblys ,
of is there other options re making your own flanges up ??
i know paul s had his oe flancges machined down and new flanges fitted ??
anyone and if you had the choice of going 5 stud , what pcd whould you choose and why
ideal time as no brakes bough yet
ohh and if your asking why
its cos im a pain in the ass and like to be different

Lol, sadly thats pf for you.
I cant give much info as my brother done all the work.
I can tell you the are custom hubs with a 5x120 pcd (bmw), and cost a pretty penny.
If you really want, I can pm his number.

I would say 5x108 as it gives you a wide range of the modern ford jag rims and if you have the money some ferrarri are also 5x108 too, just imagine a sierra on some nice ferrarri wheels now that would get some looks

the simple way is to find some wheels you like
then get the granada hub flanges drilled to suit
then fit the granada hubs flanges to your hubs
it's a fairly straight forward swap and a good time to swap the bearings over, one big nut in the back at the front and one nut on the outside at the rear, just make sure they are tightened up to the correct torque
on the sierra the rears will comfortably take a 8 inch wide rim on an et45, the sierra rims were 17x8 running an et45 offset and wearing 215/45/17's and fitted perfectly

mine went of to Norway in the end.
The problem with the granada flange is that the holes are close to the outer edge of the hub so you wont be able to redrill them to much more of a pcd anyway, but at least you can then use 5 to 5 hub adapters to get them upto 5x120 for BMW rims but these increase the track so you have to then compensate on the wheel offset

Not if you are converting a 2wd car mate
I'll get some drawing made up and take some pics as I've got some flange laying about the place.
As for drilling and tapping, you only need to drill a hole as you will be using studs pressed into the back of the flange.
If you want to use some hubcentric adapters they come in about 15mm minimum thickness anyway so a bit more space to take up in the arches and more marhs to work out offsets etc.

wheel choice is really the only reason to go 5 over 4 mate ,
nothing wrong with 4 stud ,
just looking at something different
You can also bolt bigger off the shelf rims onto the 5 stud hubs as there are loads of merc rims to choose from, the only limiting factor is the tinny arches sierra have been blessed with that don't really allow fitment of anything bigger than 17's with major arseing about with hammers and bodywork

I may be tempted to part with them but seeing as no one else will provide me with a 3.14:1 ratio diff I'd rather keep it for the forswear le future
5 / 112 pcd is probably best as with wobbly bolts you can go either 5 / 110 or 5 / 114 without hassle as its only 1mm out on each hole either way if you know what i mean. The main part is the hub bit (can't remember the name atm) but you can get adapters to make sure the wheel sits perfectly centre when wheels are fitted. On a vectra (sorry but its what i have atm) i've got 19" saab fitment wheels with wobbly bolts and hub centre adapters fitted and have had no problems at all, just a slight arch/tyre problem due to the offset of them but sorted that now by fitting 215 35 19 tyres as oppossed to 235 35 19 tyres.

russ , i take it your referring to spigot rings mate ,
the small rings that locate the rear of the alloy wheel to the center of the hub matey
