Hi pepole has any one had this before i have just finished a 4 year resto on my car and my fuel needle seems to have a mind of its own. lol

i have fitted a new fuel tank to the car which is a copyed item my clocks are the same as last time i used the car but i did not have this problem, any way the fuel goes down when i put my foot down and goes up when i brake and in goes up and down on its own when i go round a corner or just driving down the road its all way's on the move, just wondering if any one else has had this before and what you did to fix it?

is a new sender in the tank needed or the part in the clocks?

i have this problem when i have less than half a tank of fuel.

when my orion was carb, it was steady as a rock, as soon as i switched to a "turbo tank" with a swirl pot i had exactly the same problems as you. i used the original carb sender aswell.

over half a tank and its steady, but if i'm under all i have to do is pull away from lights and its below the red when i glance down.
