Would 10W60 be safe in an rs turbo?

if it's fully synthetic and for track use then yes it'll be good, not so great for a daily.
try some millers fully synthetic 10w40, or 10w50 if you do the odd track day.

I used Castrol RS 10W/60 in my trackcar RST and never had a problem.

just wondered about using something a bit thicker as when my fans come on the oil light flash's on

The guage is only going up to around 3/4 then the fans come on and it cools down,its never over heated or anything so its not gettin excessivley hot

You have low oil pressure at idle, fans coming on drop idle a bit lower.............. bottom end rebuild is most likely on the cards mate
