Default puma 1.7 water lever diplaying on the dash

i bought a puma today but shortly after i started driving coolant light come up on the dash does over heat aint llosing coolant still nice and pink at max level. stop at petrol station and filled up light went off stared driving and they light come on. and aint gone off since my mate reckons the sensor is between the spark plugs where is it??? and is it a ford only part

being normal never went over half way the fans kick in when needed thats why im not to worried im just wondering where the sensors located and how much one would be

Sensor is under the coilpack on the right hand side of the engine bay.

If its got a gauge then it shouldn't have a light. You sure its not a low screenwash level warning light?

sorry rich i didnt but i havnt even got the book that shows you what the differne t icons mean lol im going out there now just to top it up just incase lol

i feel like a moron cause i just looked at the icon on the display and the thing looks like a radiator but with a spray pattern and now i filled it up the washer bottle its gone out

so sorry for the pointless post guys but thank you for all your help think i will get on ebay and buy a old service wallet with the books

For reference yes that sensor controls the cold star and the dash gauge
