hi have just put my rst back on road after blowing up 1600 low comp engine and have put in a high comp fully rebuilt 1800 cvh bottom end
spec is standard s1 t3 (blew t3 stage 3 when engine went)
full front mount intercooler
big valve head ported polished matched manifolds
piper 285t2 set up on vernier
xr3i mfi inlet manifold(made a big difference to charge temp)
5Th injector
-31 actuator
holding 15psi boost
the car has no lag and just comes on boost and pulls like a train
completely different to my lowcomp 1600 engine and feels so much faster
spoke to a company called ferriday engineering and they have built these before and have had 220bhp and 260fbt out of ones they have built and did say pistons are the weak point but will be ok at 15psi
what does any one else think is that is achievable or a bit optimistic
will have it rolling road but short on funds at the moment

With a stock T3 i'd say around 200bhp, your extra 200cc helps spool up but also means the poor little turbo will struggle to feed it at high revs.
What is your exact CR?

im not to sure as the guy at ferriday said by putting rs head on 1800 it would lower the compression close to standard rs compression but it does go realy well and not at all laggy like my low comp 1600 with stage 3 turbo goin 2 have that rebuilt and put that on

the pistons in this engine had cut outs in them no raised bits and on the 1800 head there is a bit that is raiesed around valves i heard it pink the other day but my charge temp was 43 as i had been sat with it running talking to my brother and he wanted to hear what it soundid like so i booted it and it pinked normaly carge temp is about 28 when ive been driven around at the moment in the heat and never heard it pink

Sorry yeah I forgot you said it had a 5th!
lol
I'd be very careful driving about then as for all you know you could be lean and detonating........... wouldnt want to melt your nice fresh build mate!
IMO drop the boost to as low as you can and even then stay off the loud pedal until your setup!!

if steel rods and forged pistons were cheaper 3 years ago my zetec would never of been but it was going to cost around £1300 and my zetec rods and pistons cost £500 so i broke it and built the monster i have now.
Thats quite interesting.. a 1.6CVH will do the same power with that same spec but not make peek boost until around 3500-4000rpm, I think your manifolds make a good improvement in spool up time as Ritchie's car has never been that laggy either from what he has said, in this case the extra 200cc helps too!
