Default Using oil

Hey guys.Ever since i've fitted the aftermarket oil seperator i've been using oil more than normal.I've noticed little amounts of oil get down into the metering unit and then of course makes it way around the engine.

By buying a catch can would this help???.As really starting to bug me.

Cheers

block the metering head return and vent to atmosphere or to a catch tank. oil going in with the charge is not good and can cause det.

Rob is spot on!
But.. you should not be using any oil, unless you have it plumbed up wrong?
If it's a baileys item then you should have a return to the sump for oil and then a smaller one to return gases to the metering unit.
If you've plumbed it up correctly the only reason you'll be using oil is either worn rings, turbo oil seal, stem seals, or you have a leak.

just took boost pipes off and they have tiny amounts of oil, mainly in the pipe that goes from metering head to turbo and some in turbo to intercooler. So seems my oil seperator aint doing its job and its done correctly. The only thing i can think of is when im in high rpm the oil gets through oil seperator to metering head.

Due to having a rebuild back in 2008 and car only covering 20k miles. This why i say the rings should be fine and its only since i fitted this aftermarket oil seperator that im using a little oil.Its not huge amounts at all.But enough for me to notice every now and then.
