I'm pretty sure fuse no11 on a 2wd sapphy cossie is the FAN fuse, if so it needs rewiring yesterday before engine meltdown due to no fans, totally normal to melt the fuse connections.
Do a search on here as there is a diagram for fan rewire, cost under Ł10 and saves your engine, very easy diy as well.

Thanks tabetha, does look to be the one,I checked out the wiring today, and I will be doing a rewire!
Thanks to a dodgy alternator,my son, whose car it is,was going to drive it last night, down Southend, but didnt as its only running on battery at the mo,so thats saved him from an overheated cossie..and serveral ŁŁŁŁ
BTW, the alternator, it looks to be a 2 wire Bosch one, they known for just giving up or can something silly stop them working ?
Thanks

check that the warning light on the dash is working before condemning the alternator, and if it is, check that with the small blue wire disconnected from the alternator that there is 12V at the disconnected end

Exactly what he ^^ said, the "Something silly" is the blue wire breaks away from the connector at the alt end. The dash warning light is part of the charging circuit, it excites the field windings that start the charge process, the blue wire is the ground for this light.

There is NO reason in the intermim until it can be sorted not to drive the car as you can get the charge process to start by revving to around 4000 RPM.

You now know about the fan rewire and also you need to check the fuel pump voltage under load to make sure it reflects the alt voltage or ideally rewire, this suffers similar problems to the fan circuit, which can result in a melted engine.

ok, guys,thanks for the info.
fuel pump/wiring was next job to be done, guess the fans got jealous and wanted to be first.

The bosch alts are usually very reliable, but can/do suffer from heat damage sometimes due to nearby "cooker" unit, fried the cables on my alt, after I made a engine mount heater shield.
Just stick metre on, just did a alt swap on me dads 4i on friday, he only nicke dme spare cossie one, direct fit on his v8 lump in his car, his alt was working fine till he booked it in for the mot, then decided to pack up, and have a hissy fit with 3 bad connections at the same time, he's still got my 3 door hubs from 5 years ago I loaned him!!
As said there is normally enough residual magnetism to start the charge cycle if warning light bulb blows, by revving to around 3-4K.
