I've been trying to get quotes for the XR3 this morning and so far come up with nothing.
Insurance is up on the 10th July
I'm 22 (23 on the 13th July), been driving 4 years, 2 years no claims, SP30 in Sept 06, do 3,000 miles a year as I have a company car, social use only no commuting valued at £800. I've got a managment job, very secure postcode and the car is garaged and the cheapest quote I've had so far is £668 fully comp or £661 TPFT but they have ranged right up to £1700 TPFT
I don't want fully comp TBH as if I knock it I dont care and wouldn't claim anyway, I'm turning it into a track car soon anyway so was expecting a quote TPFT for about £3-400
It was only £500 odd to insure my RST valued at £4,500 odd with 1 Yrs NCB! The RST will be back on the road Aug/Sept so hardly worth re-insuring TBH
Does this seem a little excessive or just me being tight?

Insurance has gone up massively recently so wouldn't be surprised if you were getting properly shafted on some quotes. Keep trying mate. Try a specialist company. No one could touch Flux when I renewed.

Standard bar my Compomotive MO's off the RST. That's probably the limiting factor that they are worth more than the car! I could of course not tell them
then when i accidently prang my mate John's Ferrari Scuderia I'll try explaining to him I'm technically uninsured.
need to insure deffo worth a call the chap that owns the company - think its Paul - has a concourse S1 so knows all about these Fords... asppy with modded and uprated cars.....they insured my old escos and were cheaper by half than adrian flux agreed value also

im looking at gettin a xr3i atm but the quotes i been gettin are for more around £500 which i thought was expensive. considering i used to have a track preped car with all the mods insured for around that
i got the cheapest insurace through adrian flux this year muz.on the black fiesta with all mods declared and 4000miles per year think it was £700 and somethink not to bad for me and was around £3-400 cheaper than most other places.
i use swinton and to re new mine at end of month is £575 so shopped around today and found one for £142 fully comp bargin and thats with 1st central and thats cheap for a rs turbo cabriolet

They didn't. I rang them they took my details, didnt ring back so I called and he said, I've sent your details off to our brokers, I'll have some quotes by the end of the day and never phoned back.
