Default pointless twin wastegate manifold????

was window shopping today.. my favorite pastime

and found this..

http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/showdetai...ctID=672&pic=1

just seems a bit pointless as a single wastgate should flow 500bhp shouldent it??

2.8k for a manifold, twin wastegate's, GT30/GT35 turbo and downpipe+screamer pipes seems like a good prise though..

view's? opinions?

It has twin gates because its twinscroll. You need 2 gates to regulate the boost properly on a twinscroll setup.

its cause its twin scroll. pots 1 and 4 are joined and pots 2 and 3 are joined, it removes the unbalanced turbulance to free power due to the gasses running smoother is prob the easiest way to discribe

alot of newer cars as twin scroll turbos aswell as alot of new design turbos such as the latest impreza

its a cool idea tbh,,,, though alot of extra work but should improve the spool time of turbos

Spool times can be as much as 600rpm lower with twinscroll. They use a twin entry into the exhaust housing and split pulse manifolds to drive the turbine wheel more efficiently.

Isn't the 35 twinscroll only available in .78. Would be a crap choice of turbo on 4 pot'ers around the 2000cc mark. Would make for a mint surge moster then if you somehow managed to map out some surge it would be hellish restrictive top end.

I'm full of shit, you can get a 1.06 twin in a t4 flange, that'll work.

I use the GT35 1.06 T4 flange on my Cossie set ups, awsome full boost at 4200rpm 2.6bar and no surge, The diveded housing pickup up 400rpm peak boost and the transisional responce is awsome to say the least.
