Default my rs wont boost ?

right got an rs from a mate because he is fed up with it so thought i would add it too my collection , it has a big boost problem engine is 100% no rattles smoke anything as is fresh . now guy was under the impression that his turbo had let go and thats why he wasnt boosting well i got my hands on it swapped the turbo off of another of my cars togethor with all samcos and vacume pipes as well as a bleed valve all of which worked 100% on my other car now after replacing everything still no boost if i nail it on load in 3rd and 4th will boost to 2 psi but no more 1st gear and 2nd boost gauge just reads 0 any ideas people as it has stumped me ??? wonder ed about inlet manifold or metering head as that is all that is left on the car ? lol

any opinions please ???????

many thanks in advance

it wont boost ther is no boost if you give it a hiding then you get the smallist noise so somewhere there is a boost leak actator is new and set up all came from my other car which boosts up fine now could this be from the metering head or inlet manifold anyone else had this happen as ive owned a fair few and never come across it .

that would cause a high idle speed also, its worth checking tho get some wd40, easystart or brake cleaner and spray around the inlet while running, if the revs alter then you have an air leak

have you tried disconnecting the amal valve, and running the pressure feed from the turbo inlet direct to the actuator?

unscrew it and cable tie it to a hose or something that wont vibrate.

I had the same sort of problem only weeks ago... found out to the the actuator was holding the wastegate open. When its off boost the actuator should be holding the wastegate (penny) shut, if it not its letting the boost out, thus no boost

Try it mate, i had this problem for ages and was a simple fix.

senses knocking lol If you get detonation in the chambers its does something to rectify. I dont know what it does though lol you'll have to ask someone else.
Basically a safety meassure. I had a faulty one so when my car was on the dyno I got a very squiggly line where the knock sensor couldn't make its mind up.

Whats the intercooler like any holes in it? Is there any pipes missing from inlet? How does the car run?

I would check the intercooler as it seems you have checked everything else might have a hole in!!!!!!!

Good luck

That included the elbow with the wastegate arm and penny?

Has it got a dump valve on it? If so, remove it and block the hole up.
