you wont find it easy to convert to 4x4,
mainly down to the lack of 4x4 parts. they are harder to find than cossy parts

Right, the rs2000 engine is a brilliant and very strong lump. Sadly not many tuners took up the challenge of tuning them. Probably because of the low sale number compared with zetecs etc...?

Any how, there are still a number of things you can do,

a 2.3 engine conversion has been seen getting over 170brake with very minor mods, with some people getting well over 200 brake on throttle bodies.

The standard lump is said to be good for over 160 barke with minor mods too, so filter, exhaust etc.

There is a supercharged one kicking around, try a you tube search as i think its on there, i don't have any info on it tho.

Good luck

Rob,

I'd go for a Zetec turbo... can be pricey tuning the RS2k's to good power

ask over at www.rs2000-16v.com and ask JDmotorsports he has all parts for the RS2000.. but honestly to convert a FF to 4x4 it's not worth it money wise..you will be better off getting a hold of a 4x4 as the floors are different and gear box fuel tank, and a lot of other parts also... it's a lot of work and you will need very deep pockets... the 14 engine can be turboed but it's big money..you can also 2.3 the I4 and add bike TB's ... but if you're wanting turbo power you'd be better off sticking a RSturbo 1.6 engine in or go the 2.0 Zetec route.. and nothings easy really..as you're wanting more power so you're going to have to get upgraded ECU..those aint cheap..and then it will need a good day on a rolling road..

My old RS2000 (N96 GWR) scored 169.2bhp on rolling road with a decat pipe, airfilter, new plugs, leads and oil change.... Bless her.... Wish I still had her...

bloody hell! not bad at all mate,

And blue stig, generally you either go one way or the other, a proper turbo build means lower compression pistons and a custom exhaust manifold at the very least. There is a company (i will try and find it for you) that built a 2.3 turbo with a custom bottom end and called it the RS2300, looked mental and was supposedly very powerful.

Rob,

I Know..... was quite a quick car for what it was. Shame bodywork was very poor. Sold it on to a lad who then sold it to another lad who then had it crushed. I presume the second lad wasnt legal and had it took off him because about 3 months after it left me I recieved a certificate of distruction for some reason!
