Default 172 Track Car

I have around 3k to spend on a track car, now after searching on here looking at old threads and stuff i seem to find the general attitude towards these as very good.

It will be literally just used for track days, I would prefer to spend £2000 on the car (or less) and then spend the rest on turning it into a track car.

What are they like stripped out?

I dont want to do it and then just get embaressed by everything else on track.

What are peoples thoughts.

ive been looking for an RS1800 fiesta but they seem to be getting to be a rarity and poss not going to be anywhere near as good as a clio.

Cheers

Not driven one myself but been out in JC's and truly never been as scared in my life, the momentum they can keep up round corners seems to defy logic and im pretty sure other than brakes and the wooden engine mount JC's was standard. Been out in another one with full interior etc and felt just the same, got out feeling sick!!

jc's clio 172 has been hammed around everywhere and is still going strong.

a very reliable little car indeed.

there are a good few members on here with them now and i'm sure they will let you know what there like themselves.

imo, get one.

Are these cars still ok on 100k?
