Tyres screeching?? Wishbone probs??
i have an escort gti, and when i got the mot done 3 months ago i had to have 2 new front tyres put on, and i had an advisory about my wishbones.
a friend said the time has come to change my wishbones as whenever, and whereever i drive my tyres screech like im doing dougnuts or sumthing and the front wheels have 2 much movement in them???
i got the new wishbones, fitted them ok, but now i need 2 new tyres again, looks like im running on slicks, nothing left on them, and there is still some screeching now and again and i havnt got a clue what it is???
any advise would be appreciated as i dont want to spend £100 on tyres again to have them wasted.
thanks guys

What do you mean by screeching? When does it do it? Sure its the tyres?
Check the rest of the suspension components are ok, get the new tyres fitted, then get 4 wheel laser alignment done.

it sounds like im wheel spinning, it did do it all the time, but since changing wishbones it only does it on newly laid tarmac, turning corners or over pot holes. i checked tyres yesterday and they where red hot and near enough bald.
if you've worn the inside or outside edge of your tyres out in no time at all its because you havnt had your tracking done after changing the wishbones. i made the same mistake.
this may cure the screeching but most cars get tyre screech in car parks and on roundabouts and tight corners generally.
have you lowerd it a lot as that will increase the negative camber adding to tyre wear and possibly tyre screeching.
alternatively its cheap shit tyres causing the squeek.
either way you still need to get your tracking done!!
EDIT. What lower arms did you fit? rule of thumb on an escort is always use ford lower arms as they last an awfull lot longer than aftermarket arms!

You need to throw the QH ones away, I had them on my 1.4 and wore them out in 6 months, either go Ford or a good oppertunity to upgrade to poly bushes.
