Whats the best way, asides from taking it off which would be a bit of a ball ache.

How many miles would you expect to have to do to clear it by driving?
Took it out yesterday and some dude had to put his lights on behind me..

 

doesn't take long 10 mile hard driving?

 

Yeh was thinking a few junctions at 70mph might do the trick,
Would have to be around midnight tho

 

as long as the exhaust gets really hot, it should not take it too long, get it on the motorway for a few blasts.

 

Just took it round the country lanes
I blended in nicely with the tractors
All clear now

 

when I worked at a garage we had a chappy with a 530d who's turbo went and decided to leave the exhaust full of oil, after a blast on the dyno, which provided ploooooms of thick white smoke it seemed to be clear, a week later we got a call saying it started smoking again, just be careful cause there still could a minor amount of oil lurking around
