Default Anyone know who could reset the hood on my e36 cabby?

The cars in for a full repaint in Ferrari red next week but for many years now the hood hasn't worked electrically.I could probably diagnose it myself with the proper equipment but I don't know how readily available it is?I know there's a cable broken to hold the horseshoe down but I don't know what caused it originally,I replaced some arm as that was bent and it worked so far but then I had to pull the emergency lever!!I know loads of you on here have had them so there must be places other than BMW to get them fixed as I think the hoods were a common problem years ago, mines the semi auto version where you flip it up a bit first to remove the tension.I've been using it manually for years with no problem but were trying to put it right now!!!

I can't remember properly now but when you pulled the emergency lever you've disengadged the motors in the boot lid

Think you have to click the motors back in and if i remember correctly on the m3's there on the left hand side when you open the boot behind the carpet. They just click/push back in

Then you have to put on ignition and hold the hood switch or something

try this site and just google with (e36 convertible reset)

Hope that helps
