I'm trying to refresh my memory. I remember that in oder to make a 1.8 zetec up to the higher rated 130ps spec version as found in some XR3i's the old trick was to find a 2.0ltr Mondeo and swap across the Camshafts and Throttle body. My question is, did the 2.0ltr Mondeos ECU also get swapped across?

The reason I am asking is that this will help confirm that the Escort and Mondeo engine looms are of the same layout and so the ECU's should be interchangeable between them both.

Of course, if anyone knows the answer to that then that would help also.

later ecus are coded to the keys. 95 on, so should be swapped as a kit. as i think you should use the 1.8 130 ecu with the injectors from the same. if not them 2.0 mondeo ecu with injectors. not 100 percent but thats my understanding.
