My Escorts ignition lock is ferked. No key will open it or even fit in, I've gotten a Fiesta steering lock and removed the lock from the barrel but the Escort setup seems different. Will it work and if so, how do I remove the Escort lock?

 

Ok, I've sourced the proper ignition barrel but how do I remove the old one from its housing?

 

There is a sprung clip bit that pops out from the lock and engages with a slot in the barrel surround push this in and then you can release the lock mechanism and draw it out, with no key though may involve drilling guts of lock out and a bit of brute force before you can remove it.
