well my recently purchased project rst is now underway, put car on the ramp at 11am, by half 12 the engine was out on the bench and stripped, dropped of the block to be cleaned and homed, new rings crank gound and shells, picking it up moro lunchtime

just gotta then reaseat the valves new guides then stick it all back together

oh and has anyone got a turbo for sale? or even a knackered one with the seals etc gone? my bearings have got a fair bit of side to side movement, think still boosts ok as it gushes out the dump valve but even still would like to sort it

or can the bearings be bought ont here own?

gonna buy a ebay rebuild kit and do the turbo in couple weeks


ive done well to be honest, the rings/homing crank grind and shells was £175 all in, headset and gaskets £40


cheap rebuild

no doubt i will have many many teething set up niggly other probs to sort out over the next few weeks but ill get there



popped to fords and ordered all the bushes and springs to rebuild the gear selector aswell, only a few quid and will be like new, nothing worse than a sloppy lever
