Default Home CCTV recommendations.

ok guys, ive been a victim too many times now. FRS keyed from front headlight to rear headlight, girlfriends car having wipers bent off and stolen and this week had a brand new tire slashed on my van. it all happens when i park outside my neighbours house which is a few doors up. he has a garage and a driveway so where i park doesnt actually block him or stop him from doing anything but i think that he likes it as his spot. We have had words over the parking before but i honestly was parking there not knowing i was bothering anyone. he left the convo very angry saying "dont blame me if your car gets damaged parked there!". i live in a very nice area, in a quiet culdisac. i grew up in the street below and my family is well known in the area. i am a decent guy, i never have parties or people back and fore the house and i get on very well with all the surrounding neighbours. i now have a brand new RS and put it in my garage at every opportunity for fear of what will happen to it. i would like to set up a camera to film the car/van when parked outside his house. im very confident its him!!! but id love to catch the fucker in the act and see him done for criminal damage. right now im getting so angry about it im afraid ill do summin stupid but that will get me in more trouble than him.

can anyone recommend any CCTV companies or equipment that i could discretely set up and fil my van or car when parked there? to catch the bastard doing this to me would be amazing.

any help appreciated.

make sure its "evidential quality" or it wont stand up in court as credible evidence.

Isn't it a bit of an unwritten rule that u don't park infront of a neighbours house? I wouldn't out of curtsy, I lf I came hm from Wk and couldn't park outside I'd be a bit pissed.

its the public fucking highway.

the bloke parks on his drive not outside.

it only seems to be a problem in middle class/upper working class areas that people get anally retentive about people parking outside. most inner city streets people park whereever as theres just not enough parking!!!

regardless, even if some bullshit "unwritten rule" held true then its still not a valid excuse to vandalise someones car.

unwritten rules are just an excuse to make up bullshit as you go along. if they were real or reasonable then they would be written down wouldnt they??

feel for you pal theres no need to vandalise a car !!

Are you parked at a kerbside outside his house or just across an open drive leaving enough room for him etc?
i do recall a law in regards to parking across anyones driveway on the highway if there is,nt a vehicle on the driveway of the house your outside. If a vehicle is on there then you can not do this !! i maybe wrong here........

i know possesion is 9 tenths of the law n all that but fuck me thats just plain c***ish

Unfortunately unless you can prove it the boys in blue are gonna do jack shit !!

Whats type of cctv do you need for prosecution purposes ??

Mike

It needs to comply with BS 8495:2007 which includes stuff like datestamp, embedded anti-tampering measures in the encoding etc.

Any decent CCTV place will be able to supply to that standard.

warren, dont get me wrong this prick that keep damageing this blokes car is well out of order and needs to get what he deserves.

Whats the reason that he cant park out side his own house?
Mabey its just me but for e.g
my neighbour has two small kids and always parks outside their house now i would feel a bit of a prick if i parked outside their house and she had to struggle from further up the street all because of me as parking is tight down my road (also a cul de sac)
Hence the reason i changed my front garden into a double driveway.

There is always two sides to every story.
Also i have two rs turbos and try not to upset anyone in my road as i would be fucking livid if someone damaged my car!

Youve misread his post. the cunt (neighbour) has a drive and garage so parking outside does NOT stop the cunt accessing his property or inconvienience him.

The OP has 3 cars. id imagine one in garage, one on drive and one on street, and if theres not enough space to park outside his house (or others park there) then he has no choice but to park up the street a bit.

The only reason the nieghbour has is that he doesnt like the view of someone elses car on the public highway outside his house

Hes spoken to his neighbour and its not worked.....

Having CCTV to the recommended standard discounts those possibilities. But cheap cameras may still be acceptable if the judge is convinced.

Ah I see, if he's not blocking the neighbours drive or garage then I do hope the op gets the evidence he needs.

Their is no need to damage someones car that's cuntish and deserves a slap!

Soz for the confusion

hope it's gets sorted!
