Chap at work has a 57 reg focus, the remote control stopped working last night so he replaced the battery and it still doesnt work. Have tried reprogramming the key but that also does not work, could not seem to get it to go into programming mode.

Noticed as well when it was unlocked with the key, the buzzer inside the car beeped a few times.

Any ideas?

I might need to go on a ford computer to code the key back in.

 

the beeping inside when unlocked with the key is a warning to say you have i think 20 seconds to put ignition on or the alarm will go off.as for programming it sometimes late focus's u cant always hear the beep when igntion sequence is done.btw what way you putting it into programming mode?

 

Thanks for the replies, its sorted now. Took the key apart and the battery terminals seemed a bit loose so tweaked them a bit and its all working fine again.

As for the key programming procedure, was turning ign on and off 4 times, then pressing a button on the remote.

you need to have the front seatbelts fastened to put it into programming mode.
