I've dropped the gearbox out of my Sapphire Cosworth and I'm a bit stuck with the gear linkage.

I have took the gear knob off and undone both of the gaiters but I cant get the spring collar off, the one you pull up to engage reverse. I'm frightened I might snap it.

I've tried from underneath but I can't see any circlips or nothing!

Can anyone help with this please, surley I can't be the only one that has come across this??

hi mate/take the lower pin out ,,not the top one reverse one.just tap it out and pull the leaver up.

As said above take the pin out and the stick should lift up.
