Default Buying ex police cars?

I've been fancying a ST220 Mondeo as a daily runner for ages.

Are there any police auctions where you can get them cheap? What kind of money do they generally fetch?

All advice much appreciated!

Cheers
Peter

There's a auction house in witney oxfordshire

http://www.woma.co.uk

most of the police stuff goes through on a tuesday - i've been on a police night and they are cheaper. on the plus side all the cars are well cared for mechanically but some of them have scuffs & scrapes etc

cant really help with price info as it varies, but look at fourth coming auctions. the list is normally there a few days before

TBH mate, most private owners treat their cars like shit. Either they don't care or they're just plain stupid.

From my experience, people who drive a lot with a certain car seem to look after it more since it is their "workhorse and partner". And even if the car gets abused, at least it gets maintained regardless of cost.

I'd rather have a 150k police car than some old ladies low-milage city runabout whose engine hasn't seen operating temperature, let alone a service in the last 10 years...
