Default 2wd cosworth fires but won't run or rev properly

hello, i have a 2wd saph cossie that i recently fitted the engine back into, started and ran fine, rev'd tick'd over did everything it should do without fault, fitted rad and filled cooling system still ran fine, took it for a drive parked it up for 8hrs, went 2 drive it in garage but started then died, tried again but died, would only run if i constantly pumped accelerater but wouldn't rev or run smoothly release throttle and immediately died, fort low fuel so put in more but no diff, checked fuel pressure well over 3bar, checked injectors switching and all do, checked all sensor plugs on and clean all ok, checked phase sensor and wire's damaged, repaired wires no diff, tried unplugging individual sensors and cranking but only 1 made diff was coolant temp sensor, un plug it crank over, starts up, sits at 3000rpm without touching throttle, runs smooth no miss fires, try and rev and it will rev a little but not properly, checked feed to sensor and getting 4.32v good earth, replaced sensor with brand new 1 and still wont start or rev properly!!! HELP.................

helo, un-plug temp sensor and it will start eventually and run at 3000rpm smooth as without touching throttle atal though, try revving it and it will pick up then splutter

4.32 v is too high at the coolant sensor.it should be 1-3 volt measured at pin 29 and pin 11 on the ecu with the ign on.
the wiring and sensor are also checked at pin 29 and pin 11, ohm reading should be 950 to 4500 with the ign off.
pin 11 also goes to the tps switch/ inlet temp sensor/ map sensor.so it could be a fault with one of these items or the wiring harness.

right, found a web site that tells you how to check the ecu for fault codes!!! did that and found a 1-3 and 3-2 fault code according to the site are phase/crank sensor and map sensor faults, according to this website the engine won't run with a phase/crank sensor fault but will with a map sensor fault but later on contradicts itself and says it won't run with a map sensor fault either....can anybody confirm this??? anyway, replaced the phase sensor with a brand new genuine item and still not right but slightly different in being that if you constantly pump throttle and get it 2 start it will then rev for a little holding throttle in 1 place then die off pick up again die off pick up then die completely. the phase sensor fault code now doesn't return but the map sensor fault code does, its also a brand new 3bar map sensor unfortunately purchased from ebay as the pipe connection on the old 1 had been broken off before i got the car. i suppose could b a dodgy sensor even tho new. should i buy another map sensor or can it b tested???

check that the 2 wires are actually making a connection to the coolant temp sender.

i had this exact same fault the car would only just run when pumping the throttle and thick fuel smoke from the exhaust and the map sensor was at fault.
