It would seem most likely the immobiliser is not working(as it should, ie not allowing starting), or are you saying it turns over and starts just doesn't show the normal ignition lights ?

If so, fuse 22 (If i remember correctly), 10 amp controls all the dash lights etc.

What he ^^ said, to confirm the number plate lights will also not work as fuse 22 protects these as well, if not the fuse check for corrosion or do a "Wiggle test".

Ok, as mentioned above no dash lights is a common problem usually caused by a fuse, but it won't effect the running of the car. As stated I suspect it's an immobiliser issue, but I'd pop the bonnet and check all the connections on the battery and the +ve lead off the battery to the starter etc.(might just be something simple) Are you sure it's not just a dodgy battery? Does the central locking work ok?

Now that we know it will not start then as said it will be an immobilizer issue, if it were starter lead it would still have ignition, check that the CL still works with remote may just need a new battery in fob else probably a faulty fob.
