hi just fitted my turbo engine in my mk4 but its throwing out black smoke which i was told it was my furl metering unit , so took it apart and cleaned it all but its still coughing and banging . i then held up the flap on the metering unit and it ran fine so im unsure now so if anyone knows wat this is i will b appreciated

 

the flap controls the amount of fuel being added sounds like it's not set up right but if you not familiar with them then you've no chance, the black smoke is over fueling and when you say lift it up how much is it sitting down by on it's own

 

if it seem to run fine with the flap push in abit try adjusting the mixture screw inbetween the air filter and the fuel distributor of the metrer unit, iv had a few with all sorts of problems all different aswell, if that works then it needs setting up, and i wouldn,t drive it till it's set up or you might have to take the engine back out hope this helps

 

thanks guys very grateful 4 ur help , im not running it yet anyway . does anyone know wat sort of power i will get with a rebuilt engine with a piper cam stage3 ported an polished head by hot heads , t3 stage 2 hybrid turbo, scopion exhaust , unlimited boost ecu , k n , dump value . if any one knows it wud b great cus want 2 know a rough power ?

 

ur looking at about 190/200 bhp mate! get it setup proply and on a rolling road so u can know how much ur pushing out exactly
