Default New suspension.. Mike / Chris(cossymad) etc

Guys, im thinking of binning my current 9 year old Koni/far too low whatever springs for either a brand new set of Konis with Ahmed specced std height springs.. or coilovers

I want the slightly nose down look as Dave's here has got

what would you reccomend? Its not a track car, and i want road comfort as the koni/spring combo i have at the mo is tired.

cheers

I'm interested in this too! Just bought brand new koni's, i've got Graham Goode springs on at the moment and it sits really well, but as with Dave- they've been on a long time so could do with replacing also.

quite pleased with my Gaz coilovers. Reasonable price with the joy of changing the ride height to how you want it. Cossymad (chris) will sort ya pretty quick.

You can change the harshness on both front and rear with easy knob adjustment. The ride doesn't seem much harder than standard. I have the backs on the softest setting and the fronts with 2.5 turns of adjustment to stop the inertia of the engine causing a double bounce when going over speed humps.

The spring rates are fixed (Set poundage rating on the spring), but speak to cossymad and say you want the same as mine and he'll sort it out for you.

Its the safest way to ensur the car sits as you like it, otherwise it'll be too low/ hard/ soft/ high etc with a fixed kit!!
GAZ kit is very good for the money, and IMO as good as a lot more expensive as other kits on the market!!!
At the mo. £500 all in.

Dave,
I would go with the coilover kit (to get the ride height perfect), but find out what spring rates they come with (combined with what the from / to bump and rebound rates are) and I can then advise what springs to ask for to get a good ride / handling compromise. Obviously I can do you the AVOs for a similar amount to the GAZ's, but it depends which you prefer. Do NOT order the AVOs with the standard spring rates, it is horrible!

You can't go wrong with the Koni / Ahmed spring kit . BUT, you have to live with what-ever the ride height settles to and the dampers have to come off the rear to adjust them.

Dave...yes is the answer to your question.
Originally we were getting them far to harsh, but now with a reduced rate, the ride is as Fozy says!!!

What kind of spring rates do you recommend to 2wd saph cosworth?
I currently have AVO adjustable coilovers and the standard springs sucks..

If I can use this toppic - what coilovers with what spring rates would you reccommend for my Escos - fully trimmed road car, driven on VERY VERY VERY bad roads with holes in them and no flat tarmac at all but sometimes driven also on the track. I currently have Lesjofors springs with yellow Bilsteins and it handles quite well on flat tarmac but its's far too low and rear seams to soft especially rebound.
