hi to all im hopefully getting my first rs turbo on a g plate in rosso red ive had xr3i,s before so i no to look for the battery tray fuse box in the boot for rust.What i would like is what else should i be looking for body and engine wise other than the obvious smoke and head gasket signs many thanks in advance

click the search button at the top mate am sure there will be hundreds of posts in there explaining what to look for ive seen it asked loas of times!

i tried that and it comes up nothing found i thought it was odd but thats why i asked cos i want to do as much research as poss before

Fuse box
battery tray
inner wings
chassis rails front/back
roof
boot floor
sills
floor pans

Basically everywhere. Dont worry about mechanical problems as they can be fixed. if you pick up a snotter of a shell then you are fooked to start with.
