Lots of people have had problems with a lg 42 inch lcd, Type it in google and you'll see. loads of problems with the screen, Rumour had it if you had a porob they would replace with a 50", It was only the 42" that had problems though
what?
please ignore comments like this...need more detail on which model you have bought and how much you paid for it to make judgement
1080p is what youre looking for. but its not the be all and end all of a tv.
Lots of people like LG and loads love Samsung.
I have a 52inch sharp Aquos which to me when i bought it the picture quality was far superior to the competition samsungs and lgs. the sony for a 50 inch was 1500 dearer.
when i replace it although at this rate i dont think i ever will as its been faultless for 3 years atleast i will buy the sharp quatro one thats advertised with RGBY.
For me main brand tvs go like this Pioneer, panasonic, sony, sharp, samsung, LG, all the low end stuff...
but most really like samsung (which atleast when i was buying mine was basically the same as LG)

I've got a 32" LG LCD 1080p TV and i'm really pleased with it.
Paid around £350 for it in a January sale earlier this year and when used with Sky HD or my PS3 Bluray the picture quality is great!

looks like you paid a good price mate, it will do exactly what it says on the tin, it will be very good quality from a HD source. Had a quick scan on the net and there does not seem to be any horror stories

Just got the 50" LG 50PQ6000 about a month ago, £550 delivered.
Briliant tv for the money, good guarantee, not worried if it breaks after that as it's hardly a massive expense. Depends what your after really, i don't see the point in buying a 1500 tv that will I will no doubt get rid of the same time after i'd get rid of this one, so will lose less money.

blacks is a big deal.
I really like panasonic Black, For me 3 years ago samsung and lg were shocking with clacks and whites.
Massive in your face unrealistic colours back then aswell. Quite possible that things have changed now.
If i dont get the sharp then my next tv will be Panasonic. Just hard when there is nothing wrong with the telly you have. Thats the good bit about buying the best spec you can at the time.
i think i paid 1700 and its probably worth 200 now lol.

Without sounding funny, your awesome and my awesome are prob different, the only LG i would personally even consider is the ps8000 and even that is 2nd best to the pannys, just about all the reviews will back this up to black levels and image quality just isn't LG's strong point but decent enough none the less
I get the whole "big sell" on image quality but any normal persons eyesight can't see a minute fantastic boombastic image quality beyond a certain point anyway, and no one i know has 2 tv's in their house right next to each other so they can compare the difference all the time, so you won't even notice. Anyway, each to their own. To me it's lke having a watch that displays milliseconds, i won't ever use it and i don't need it, but I'm sure there is a market for it.

Everyone has to remember, my current TV I bought in 2001, and it's a 26" screen... It's about 4 foot deep, weighs the same as my car, and has a habit of switching itself off
i have an LG 42" plasma (i know you said LCD)ive had it about 2 years now and its still as perfect as the day i bought it but its absolutely great, wouldnt change it for anything now.
todays tv's (plasma or lcd) have good menu's and you can usually play arround enough to get an almost perfect picture, where blacks are blacks and motion blur is minimilised.
