good question!

perhaps the owner had a couple of maps from m.a.d and they were not very good, so he took it somewhere else.

Tony's mapping abilities were under attack last week by people making off the cuff & incorect statements it must be annoying to these Specialists when people post on an internet Forum without giving all the facts hence my PM. I must admit i assumed a PM was a private message & not for public viewing i would have prefered a private reply .

Im sure Mark will give all the facts when he gets in tonight.

I think you must have mis understood what you may have been told but the facts are,
I never mapped the car I only supplied a base map and having told wes I dont have base map to suit his spec it will need work and no cost for the base map,
Then a upgrade to a 1.09 ecu chip and again I have not run this chip with a 36-1 pully and the trigger patterns in the software have been totaly rewriten and this may need work to get it started,
This may have only taken me 20mins to sort if it had not run correctly but as not seeing the car its a bit difficult to do this,
So according to you I am a shit mapper but the fact is you cant map a car you havent seen.

JTFC

Just to clear things up, I purchased the ECU from TurboSystems who got it from MAD, supplied with a base map to get the car running. The car started on the 1st attempt. I then got the firmware version of the ECU updated to v1.09 and Mark didn't have a working base file for this firmware and my sensor setup, he changed a lot of the settings required when going from 1.07 to 1.09 but as with anything it is difficult to get these things 100% right without having the car in front of you to verify, the car didn't start after the firmware update so I played around with some sensor settings to get it running again. Mark hasn't done anything wrong, he's never even seen the car or done any work on it! He's always been helpful with any questions I’ve had.

I took it to TurboSystems to give the car a bit of a once over and to do a bit of work on the base mapping as it was stalling when revving the engine and coming off the throttle and the Idle was going abit mental from time to time, we have solved these little problems now, once I’ve got the car back on the road and run-in it will be going back to Tony for mapping as he is my preferred engine mapper, simple as that really!

No they still prefer 2 teeth on 4 cylinder engines, it was my choice to go 36-1 as the Sm4 supports it so it would be rude not to use it

Yes std Weber uses 4 on a 4 cyl engine, Autronic prefer to use 2 on a 4 cyl, something to do with it not actually needing as many inputs, but it can use various configurations and does work with 36-1 as my car runs. I was already using all of the small turbo escort pulley's + sensors before i even got the ECU so seemed silly to change them if not required.

Autronic has had 36-1 and 60-2 capability since the 1.06 chip from mem. the 2 lug set up pre used was a easy mod to the stock pully.
