Default Parrot MK6100

just bought a Parrot MK6100 and after countless people saying get it done by a professional (at the cost of £50/60) I thought fuck them and the professional ill do it myself, I looked up the diagrams and everything and planned it out in my head. it came in the post today so as I took it out of the packet and saw all the wires I thought shit what the fuck have I gotten myself into. so I trundled into the car with it plugged it all in as the instructions said slotted it all back together and stuck the controls and display on where I wanted them and was done it took me all of 20mins. Here’s the end result

well chuffed with it what yous think??????????

Parrots are a piece of piss to fit, done loads now for friends after I fitted a CK3100 a couple of years ago. People get so scared of car wiring and it's usually unfounded. Nice job mate

haha yeah the only problem i had was getting space behind the radio for it then i realised that i needed to put all the wires and the box at the bottem and the sides, oh and cutting my thumb when i was making the hole in the blank for puting the wire for the display through

yeah people are scared of car electrics for some reason,,,,, i guess its cause you cant phisically see where it goes or what it does and normal mechanics is nuts and bolts,,,,, and no fire risk sort of ( though we dont have a fear of petrol for some reason)

i done 2 of the vans at work and a reps focus as they forgot to tickthe options box.... our workshop told us they cant for 2 weeks and would need each vehicle for the morning

done 3 in one morning,,,,, make it worse is ford make a plug and play modded loom for em,,,,,, so it was easier than i thought !!!

I pulled the cover off above the glovebox and mounted the control module and gubbins in there. Cover back on and nobodies the wiser and it doesn't overfill the area behind the radio.

I've had loads of different parrots with loads of different phones, they're so bloody good i've changed our car fleet at work to them. Mind buggeringly reliable and clear as hell to talk/listen to IF installed correctly.

I would suggest the issue lies with the operator or installer as they are superbly reliable. I've never yet experienced any issues at all and every one I have fitted over the last three years is still working as well as the day I fitted it.

Hi, I have just seen this thread, and wondered if anyone would be able to give some advice

My mum brought this Parrot handsfree kit and got it installed straight to her Astra, by the shop she brought it from, changed the car and never got round to fitting it again, so said I can have it ..

I've tried getting my head round the wiring, but the ways I've tried, don't seem to be working, I have brought the adapters for the ka wiring, and have an aftermarket headunit, I noticed on the receipt, they charged extra for the wiring (I can upload a photo of this if easier).

Do I need to remove that wire and put the adapter ones I brought in? Or attatch that to the current wiring for the parrot. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I've tried explaining it best I can :d.

Thanks in advance for any help and answers

Post a picture up of what you have as you may have additional wiring adapter to work with the Astra that you don't now require and is causing confusion

^^ think I've done that right lol..

^^ that is the wiring for the parrot, as you can see, the black wire has been cut.

If you need the wires shown for the Ka and wires from car to headunit I can get them too.

Some fucknut has chopped the Parrot loom up for you. The 2 remaining ISO plugs are for the speakers so need to go between the radio speaker loom and the cars speaker wiring. You'll need to do some patching on it though as I'm afraid it looks a mess. I'd be kicking the shop firmly in th ebollocks for making such a hash of it.

Shame your not closer or I'd offer to look it over for you.

I'll go on a rummage and see if I can find the box mine came in and will scan and upload for you. Won't be before tomorrow though as I'm heading to Bristol in about an hour

got the ck3100 in both transits, paid £50 each for them off the ebay, piss easy to fit, makes me fume when I see people in expensive cars using their mobile, surely they can afford a £50 hands free kit

Thank-you for the quick reply ..

I thought that, and I went back to where we brought it from, and they seem to think it all connects straight back on, I did have a thought that they might have cut something, meaning it would be harder for us to do ourselves, they quoted me £45 to do it, makes me think of just buying another one - making sure they don't get more money Lol!

thanks, about the box too, no worries if not, yeah I seem to live a while away from everyone

Atleast I know it's not just me being stupid now..

Just an update - seemed to figure out the wire situation - sending everything through fine, until it reaches the box, headunit is fine, does this sound like the blue box?? Or the parrot itself..In which case, ill sort a new one out
Sorry to ask again, but thanks in advance .
