Default cd in grille

its supposed to deflect the beam from the cameras and hand held guns but there are mixed results as in sometimes it works sometimes it dont and the police are aware of things like this so could pull you for it.

it definitely doesn't work anyway because I had a cd on my old rs turbo (yes all laugh at me) and I got stung by a mobile speed camera van parked on the central reservation of a very busy dual carriageway which I didn't expect to be a bleedin 30 zone!

I think they look ok, altho it is an old mod. Just a different mod if you don't have a big cooler in there. Shows that it's a real RS as well (Xr fans are behind the rad). The stainless covers don't look right imo. Someone asked me yrs ago if they work against speed cameras..but i don't think they do. They are too hidden to be any real use for this. Here's a pic of mine on the S2.

At the end of the day people can do what they want.. It personal preference, if you dont like it dont bitch and cry about it. Dont make people feel like tossers because of what they like or dislike .. Just like all things in life its down to taste.

Nice one thelynx.
It takes allsorts and lifes too short so we should all just try to get on a bit better and accept each others foibles and tastes with good grace.

And no, i'm not wearing flip-flops and a caftan

BTW, always did wonder what CD was all about. I presumed it was just there to look pretty. But if someone thought it would scatter speed trap beams, then, well, it's a little naive; but if you don't know for sure, anythings worth a try.

You often see truckers with old cd"s strewn across the length of their dashboard. They reckon that it deflects speed cameras. It may have worked on older cameras but I personally think they have improved the lasers in modern cameras and they aim the beam at your number plate.Thats why they tell you to fit laser jammers by your number plate as well.bunch of coonts

Couldn't test it even if I wanted to. My fan isn't visible.
I hardly think it would work though. But if gluing music on the front of your car is your bag; you're probably better off sticking 12" vinyl on the front and obscuring your No. plate, they definitely wouldn't get you then.

But like I said, people will be people; and if they like how it looks, or they think it serves a purpose and it makes them feel better, then by all means they should do whatever they desire with their own car.

BTW, I currently rely on my own eyes and a crack team of speed trap/gatso camera spotting mates to help protect my licence from the blue meanies as I am presently Snooper-less and looking for a replacement. So if anyone knows who sells them cheapest; i'd realy apreciate a heads up.
Cheers.

pmsl @ the 12" vinyl on the bumper

if you are posh you could get the old 80's laser disks too , they were about 12" too i think
