Default inspection pits any one done one?

seriously thinking off digging one out in the garage any one on here dug one or any advice on doing it ?

i did one in the late 70s for a hgv company ,dug the pit , put approx 6 inches of pea gravel in the bottom ,then put a steel liner in there with a 6 inch square cut out in the corner with a removable lid for a pump just in case it there was underlaying water if the water table rises in stormy condition ,(different ground conditions control this ),,then we bricked up the sides and ends ,,in the small cavety we left between the brick work and the steel lining we were able to run cables for lights and sockets ,

sure one of the lads on here done one before,

theres a company who do hard plastic pit liners , similar to to a pond liner , but they come with moulded anti slip steps moulded ect , conduit for lighting blah blah

simply a case of digging the hole ,a sharp sand bed and away u go ,

as above the plastic liners are prob the best bet prob cheaper too

you can get them ready made nowadays so all you need to do is dig a hole - search google

and that keeps the sides of the pit all intact even with a car on the ground?
