Unhappy How do i replace the n/s driveshaft oil-seal

i have a ford focus 1.8 zetec 2000 3door and i need to replace a leaky oil seal for the driveshaft..
if anyone has got any info, tutorials or links relevant to doin the job it would be much appreciated..
oh and how do you top-up the gearbox oil?

The best thing you could do is buyt a haynes or similar, as a pictures says a thousand words.
Easy enough job though, jack car up split hub from tca, with draw driveshaft, may need to lever it a bit out, then pick out old seal install new after coating with oil, put back together.
There will be a plug on the side of the box for setting the level.

No probs rob, just take your time no rush, do it once do it right rather than rush and bugger it up, at least the foci shafts come out easy, some other makes can be a real serious swine to do, as the inner sprung circlip is so bloody stiff!

hi have a 2003 1.6 focus ,i am pretty confident my shaft oil seals have seen much better day so will be needing replaced soon,at the moment there is some slight play on the driveshaft and some noises coming from that area when driving over bumps could these be anything to do with the worn seals

doubt it seals are there to stop oil leaking out, as for noise have a look at track rod ends, ball joint on lower arm, anti-rollbar link ect
