Ianm,
The gunship conversion is the cheapest conversion I do and offers a huge improvement over the normal stage 1 setup.
It is not however better than my stage 3 gunship on greens and a 3bar, but this conversion is more than twice the cost.
People pay their money and make their choices!!
The comments the other night regards performance were simply that my stage 1 gunship performance figures are as good as a "typical" stage 3 803 std turbo setup. (Look in back of PF mag at times against 803 cars). My own stage 3 gunship is however much quicker than a traditional 803 conversion.
Horse for courses I suppose!

set up by stu , hes very cautious aswell ( not saying ya not karl btw, but ya know what i mean, you tweek a bit more than most tuners ton get a bit extra
The phrase "gunship" is just the slang term I use to describe the conversions I do with a unique boost response. (In the sense that these conversions are about making the car very fast point to point and very responsive) Most people will tend to run a relatively flat boost curve through a traditional map, but for the Gunship maps I produce a very high mid range boost and then tail the boost back to a reliable limit for the turbo. This conversion is also mapped to give rapid spool from the turbo to increase the response. I offer it in stage 1 format which is usually a peak of 22psi tailing to 16psi on a totally std engine, or a stage 3 format (i.e. 803's and 3 bar) which is a 30psi peak tailing to 20psi.
or a stage 3 format (i.e. 803's and 3 bar) which is a 30psi peak tailing to 20psi.
fooking hell
, 20psi is a bit low BUT 30psi and its a spike too
now thats gonna be a nice conversion
Well its not actually a spike its a mapped zone that runs 30psi. Its quite a complicated setup but does produce a quick car and really responsive. You need to pull the boost back to 20psi at high rpm on a T3 else it tends to over speed them!!
leys not turb this into a tuner war again
this is a good conversion idea that ive never heard of
karl what could ya do with a t34 on greens, light blues or greys then
just a rough estimate if ya dont mind
, dont worry if ya dont wanna saym, i understand

Chris, there's nothing wrong with a 205 block at this power level. The only thing I advise is that the car has had a recent head gasket (i.e. not on a 20year old item!!) and that you're using a 60trim T3. (Else its 28 psi midrange on a 55trim)

Having had firsthand experience of driving a stage 3 equipped car, and then driving the car after Karl sorted it................ I've driven a LOT of stage 3 cars, and I reckon my brother's saff is about the fastest I've ever been in.
