Can get both a S1 and S2 on classic insurance..as long as the S2 is a 1990 or older. HIC & Adrian Flux will cover both of them under the classic policy (15yrs+). They do it on the car & not when model production stopped. Fluxxy and HIC are very good (for me) altho it can take ages for someone from HIC to answer the phone. Limited mileage (can be 5000miles which might be plenty) will also bring the quote down slightly, as will the value of the RS you buy. Good luck with the car hunt.

Yes. First car's are normally expensive as it is, never mind being a group 14 car..even if you do get it on classic insurance. It's more down to the car & the power..but a workmate just bought a 1.3 Escort..first car, 20 yrs old & it's cost him nearly £1000 a yr TPFT.

Tesco are normally poo cos they don't know anything about modified cars.

Try direct line over the net, and place your mum and dad on as a additional driver even if they never drive the car!, it will come down by a couple of hundred, they insured my xr3i im using while my turbos off the road for 250 quid the other day, they wanted 339 without my mum on it!.

Im with adrian flux on the turbo though, i pay 400 quid with my 23 year missus on it, but i am 24!

classic policy is difinately the way forward for a S1 or 2 especially at your age...
you wont earn NCB on the policy but its gonna be a lot cheaper than a normal policy!
