Default Rover zr indicator fuse blowing

A mate has a problem with a rover and just wondered if any one here noes any thing about them, Basicaly if indicating right the fuse blows and u loose ignition and the car cuts out, but is fine if indicating left

also when locking the car the indicators do light up so cant see it been a short, but i might be wrong

Could be as C/L gives indicator power elsewhere, it could be a short between switch and light. Do the hazards work?

na fuse blows with them as well

Then it's almost certain the live for the right indicator has a leak to earth causing the short. Not sure on that car where alarm wiring is for indicators most likely to be spliced into the lives if it's not done by an electronic module so I would start at the indicator stalk and go from there.
