Default Anyone have back to back comparisons of Cosworth downpips compaired to Escort ones?

I'm about to fit my T34 .60/.48 with an ERST ehaust housing but I want to know, does anyone actaully have any back to back tests to show the differences between using the Cosworth .48 exhaust housing and downpipe and an ERST .48 housing and downpipe?

I know the Cosworth set up is supposed to be less restrictive etc and worth fitting but just how much better is it?

Jano gave me some good advice about it yesterday, but if we are talking a big imporvmeent I would do the extra work to fit one.

Muz the system i sold off the Black Fezzy at FIT was cossie setup, speak to creator and ask him to take a pic of it as i sent it to his mate. He tooks pics of it before he was going to fit next to his FRST downpipe which is very similar to T3.

I'll PM Danny then Jano. I did take on board what you said at FITP, but the chaps offering to swap the housings free, and if with my spec I can gain say 10LBS of tourque by swapping them then it would be worth it. Fabricating a downpipe is no problem.

You will need a flange and clamp from a cossie downpipe mate but other than that its pretty easy to make a downpipe up. The other mod will be an actuator bracket as there is none off the shelf that will fit.

if you click on my link in my signature, you can see how i made a down pipe and bracket for the actutaor to fit in an xr2 engine bay.
i think it flows better and even with a 0.48 housing it seems to spool about the same as the escort standard t3 did on the 0.36 housing.
no factual/evidential comparrisons though.

little bram thats quite nice.

Only if you want to keep the std exhaust in one bit but dont really get the point other than being able to fit other systems or change etc.. Would probly be better in one welded piece tho.

Ah that looks good Bram. I'll just buy a cossie downpipe and bastardize it to my system. Cosworth housing is being fitted as we speak.
