John, my advice is as follows:

1. befriend a good autosparky.
2. use the t5 box.
3. ditch the EGR and cats.
4. make sure you put a massive air filter on it or it'll hunt like mad and drive like you're sat inside an accordion.

i'll dig some more pics out.

the engine is smooth, lots of lazy torque at the bottom and revs strongly. bloody loud tho. speed wise it feels similar to an s14 200sx up to about 130. above that it's too unstable as i haven't done the brakes yet!

i think the BOB gets used less because it's harder to rewire. some people put the BOB cams in the BOA though.

that 3 door looks bloody good. google the top boss blue steel one, should be good for inspiration!

i used a dohc sierra rad and fans, was advised this is the right one to use. i bought an adjustable switch/temp sensor like the ones you get for kenlowes (the little brown box in front of the washer bottle) and had it wired in with a relay. i also had an override switch mounted to the dashto bring the fans in manually if i need to. The engine can get warm if it's driven hard then gets stuck in traffic, so it's nice to have the choice.

in the dry, very, very quick but still loses a bit of traction at launch.

in the wet it can be outwalked off the mark.

thats a good plan lol, the type 9 isnt up to the torque of the 24v. would a t5 now work better tho?

definitely use the t5 box. it used to be really tricky to make it fit, but there are lots of conversion kits, bellhousings, etc. did mine a few years ago and there was a lot of head scratching, but nowadays it's so straightforward you'd be mad not to.
