I'm not sure. I can't find anything telling me wht relays do what.
I think the sunroof and windows are linked but the heated screen has its own little circuit

It's in the back of the handbook or better still on the back of the cover, there are no relays for the windows so won't be that, fuse 24 (30 amp) protects this circuit.
As you say heated screen has it's own circuit so the two are not related this however DOES utilise relay(s). First check though that the LED on the switch illuminates with the engine running if it does then move onto looking at the relay, there are actually two ones a conventional relay while the other is a special time delay relay.

Got the windows and roof sorted, there was no live going to them.
As for the screen, the switch is not illuminating but thats about as far as i got before giving up lol.
which relays does it use ?

I would check the switch itself is getting +12V WITH the engine running as the live comes from the output at the back of the alternator. This is most likely to be the problem if no power here you can just find power from another source AKA the rear heated window switch and this is switched live from ignition just dont use it without the engine running due to the amount of power it draws although personally i would find as to why it's stopped working to start with.

Cheers for that,
Now you mention the alternator..... Im having problems with that too, well, kind of
Its a brand new alternator.
When you start the car it doesnt charge . If you rev it over about 4000rpm it starts charging, even at idle. Switch the car off and the cycle starts again. What would cause this ? It happened on another alternator i tried too !
Cheers for your help

Common problem, as said you also will find you have no battery warning light on the dash, theres a thin blue wire on the back of the alternator this brakes away from the connector. Usually when you turn ignition a +12V feed is sent to this terminal this in turn excites the field windings which starts the charge process, when the engine is running the terminal changes from being a ground to +12V hence extingushing the light. If you rev to 4000 this is enough to start the charge process.

Jon, The car is pretty much completly striped interior wise, so no original dash lights so i have no idea
If i put a live to that terminal, will it start to charge, or have i grasped the wrong end of the stick
Cheers for the help guys

You need the alternator light (or a suitable resistor will probably be OK, which IIRC should be about 6 ohms) and wiring to start the alternator charging. This wire also feeds the heated screen.
As I say you need the light as it's part of charging circuit, you ideally want a bulb as this will give you a visual indication as to when all is not well but otherwise as said you can use a resistor.

either its the blue wire or the voltage reg is about to give up the ghost, i had that happen on a "so called" new alternator, turned out to be a recon and they did not change the regulator, just something to think about
