Help me identify this engine / head plz

sorry for the long post wondering if you could help me out
i have recently bought an rs turbo
it was sold as a 1.8 zvh conversion running with forged pistons bigger cam in a normal head around 200 bhp at standed boost
every things been bodged on the car and the person who sold it was'nt that honest
basicly it was running well in the first and second but in third gear. It seemed to get to 4000 rpm and not rev any higher and seemed like it was over boosting gauge was showning it going in to red (1 bar) very quickly it was also getting very hot like boiling over from driving down my road 1/4 mile long with the fan constantly on.
i took the head off the car and saw that the pistons were flush with the top of the block i was expecting them to be dished?
there was no decompression plate between block and head
i think the head is a efi head (well it had a bit of alli plate siliconed between injector on the inlet and the head to cover the bigger inlet holes on the head)
the block did not have the four oilways at the front bunged up as i have read should be on a zvh conversion the head gasket was just blocking that and the water ways in the head
i cannot see how the compresion had been lowered on this at all. i have read this needs to be done.
it was also hard to start like it had high compresion.
i think that i need a decompresion plate to lower the compression???
the pistons are not skimmed and the end ones have y05 h1 2r and y06 h1 1r marked into them
the head has k750a d85m6090 1.6bb 4.5.90 2.2 marked in to it and does'nt appear to have been bored out near valves
the block is hard to read but i think it says 6015 18 958 88 on it
i will post some pictures when i figure out how to upload them
