Default plenum spacer

has any one seen any improvement from useing one bit worried about running 2x gaskets as its anther one to leak maybe get it o rings or welded on also what depth 10mm or 14mm also what lenght bolts have you used ?

got a 14mm on mine, use cometic gaskets and you wont have a problem

i dont know the pros a and cons , but i do know Karl norris said to take it off a car what was getting mapped for 500bhp

oh right didnt realise the 4x4 one was that restrictive, so its only slightly better flowing than a 2wd

i drilled the threads out on the manifold then used longer bolts to nut and bolt it.. seems to clamp it better and havent had any leaks on mine... dont get the 10mm one as its a pain to fit the fuel rail back on.. think the 14 mm is the one that just locates the rail the other side of the lugs..

sweedish plenum seems to be a good route to go. The elbow is the problem on the standards. The sweedish plenum I have has the spacer actually incorparated and welded into the unit. I personally like the look of the mike rainbird plenum. Is quite a reasonable price and is good up to something like 700bhp. It is what I will probably buying before getting car set up.

But at the end of the day, you could say what is the point on having a decent flowing inlet if you have standard head with no work done to that... It will still be restrictive after if goes through the plenum.

ok thanks guys i might just have some tubes welded from the elbow to 1 and 4 end to even out flow not sure yet just polished the plenum inside and port matched it.

Got a 17mm spacer on my 4x4 manifold, straight on with a pair of cometic gaskets

sure i saw before some one had cut and welded the standard elbow to aid flow, any ideas who to do this
