Helo, im thinking of starting a MK2 Escort Cosworth engine conversion/project, i was wondering if its a difficult conversion to do and whats involved? this has probably been asked before and if so does anyone have a link? cheers

it should'nt be that hard a conversion as the shell should take a pinto anyway (maybe a little modding to the gearbox tunnel for the cossie box)
the electrics should nt be that hard either as you can power up the engine loom seperatly from the car loom

Just wondering if it wud be cheaper to buy a mk2 thats already converted with alot of uprated parts than doing it all from scratch?

Nicely finished mk1 and mk2 cossie conversions normally go for well over 10K.

Just starting one with a friend from scratch its not a cheap do, the axle coilover turrets 5link kit ect. Probably cheaper to buy one done but wheres the fun in that!

i am in the middle of doing such a conversion now,been going now for a few years and if you have the cash i would sugest you buy a car or shell thats had most of the work done to it.

i have spent lots of money on a nice shell and lots of fabrication parts and its been hard sorting all that out,probably of been easier to buy one done but it would of cost me a fortune for the same type of shell.
