changing my cambelt today on the erst....just had a quick look under the car to see what its like before i start. do i have to lower the engine down to get the bottom pulley bolt off by gunning it with the air gun or is it possible to lock the engine and get it off with a spanner? cheers

 

yeah undo it with a ring spanner, 19mm or 17mm

locking up the engine so it doesnt keep turning over whilst undoing the bolt? thats all i need lol first time ive done a cambelt on one of these cars. cheers

 

if you can get the spanner on the pulley bolt by reaching under the car with it in gear and the handbrake on, or you could get it jacked up etc then get the spannner on the bolt and give it a whack with a hammer, there never mega tight
