Default is my turbo nakered?

just started doing my engine rebuild last night, when i took of my boost
hoses, oil was inside them and a bit of oil was comin out the intercooler,
does any one know if its nakered or a simple job to sort, it is the original
turbo, so 19 year old.
also if i replaced it with a stage 1 turbo with the 360 bearing, is setting up required or is it just a straight swap.
thank you

i would say the turbo if its been on for 19 years!, easy to change, proberly looking at 500 quid for a new one, or P.T.S can rebuild them for 250.

All ERSTs have some oil in the intake, its the way the breather system is designed. If the rings are knackered then the crankcase pressure will be higher forcing more oil through the breather and into the inlet.

If you are spending alot of cash on rebuilding the engine then i would also get the turbo rebuilt or replaced.

You could also re-design the breather system so it doesnt feed through the intake, an alloy breather with a vent filter or piped up to a catchtank with vented cap.
