2wd/4x4 oil pump

Default 2wd/4x4 oil pump

can you fit a 2wd oil pump into a 4x4 cosworth as the 4x4 pumps are a lot of £££££££££ conpaird to a 2wd i no the pick up pipe is not the same but will the 4x4 sump go over a 2wd oil pump any help lads

i have a 4x4 pump on a modified 2wd pick up, and a 2wd sump,,, so isuppose everything is possible lol

2wd and 4wd pumps are the same as they both have the spray bars, only difference is the pick up pipes are different

and obviously the st engine uses a different pump as they dont have the spray bar

the pick ups are different due to the need to clear the cross bar in the sump, but otherwise it "should" be the same pump physically

thanks lads for the info the thing is a 2wd pump £100 and if you have the lid there only £25 of ebay and a 4x4 pump is £200 so im happy to do a bit of pipe work which will save a lot of ££££££££££

If you have spray jets instead of the spray bar can you use a regular Pinto pump?

on some of the new style pumps they have changed the design slightly so you carnt use a normal pinto pump like you could before so the lids wont fit

iv just put a pinto pump into a cosworth motor and done the lid swop and it was all good . im told its burton power that did some thing to the casting to stop this from being done

just so you all no wots going on over the weekend i won a 205 bottom end but i will be making it into a 4x4 and putting it into my focus that im building and running about 360BHP
