Default 65mm throttle body on 2.0 ghia

has any1 fitted a 65mm throttle body on a 2.0 focus ghia and what results did you get? ive read through a few threads on here but most seem to be 1.8s. some say that it makes the car idle poorly. i was wondering if any1 had any good results as i was thinking of purchasing 1.

Don't bother, save your money.

Had one fitted to my 1.8 (2.0 litre is EXACTLY the same though) and it idled like an absolute pig, plus the stiffer spring in the butterfly makes it a nightmare to control the pedal resulting in 4000rpm pullaways and mass clutch slippage.

The only time they are good is if you are going for a 250+bhp turbo build or if you are building a drag car where you want to get back on the throttle asap after a gearchange. If you've got a road car (which I'd imagine you have as it's a Ghia) then it will be absolutely shit!

i disagree - if tuned right there is absolutely no problem with idling or pedal feel... and you get a very nice throttle reaction + the car actually accelerates even from very low rpm's (provided you port the header to match 65mm)

BUT, I don't think it's worth the price if bought new - look for a good deal... and, it probably won't give you much without other mods like exhaust and intake

I already have an air filter and miltek 4 branch manifold and system. i was hoping this would increase performance a little bit more. i was also thinking of buying a bluefin after the 65mm throttle body was installed. does fitting the 65mm throttle body have much effect on the air mass meter??

bigger TB won't increase your performance really - it will make the car rev quicker and you'll feel the power at lower rpms. I wouldn't expect any real gains at WOT
