Default My RST replacement!! Megane R26

Well, I know its not a Ford, but I thought you might be interested to see what I replaced the RST with. Obviously I've had a pic in my signature for a while, but it's a library pic and not of my actual car.

It's a late 2008 Renaultsport Megane R26 230bhp. It's done 15,000 miles. Glacier White was an optional colour that cost extra and is actually probably the rarest colour. I'd say that approximately 1 in 20 of those for sale are White. Additionally, the original owner ticked alot of options boxes, it has full decals (which was a very expensive option) and the Lux pack, which means that it has full leather and some additional interior trim. It also has Xenons and full keyless control, so you don't even need to take the keycard out of your pocket.

It's currently about 235bhp and I can honestly tell you that, despite having had 10 years of fun with the RST, I don't want it back!!

Anyway, I'll leave it at that......

What bhp were you running on the RST? Was it close to the Meggy?

No, LOL.

The RST was 350bhp and probably under 1000kg. The Megane is 235bhp and about 1290kg (I think). So, technically, I've lost alot of power. But, I've owned the Megane for 6 months and haven't remapped it yet, that must say something!!

I loved the RST mate, still my fave ever, but can't knock these, decent little cars, and least you can actually drive these without shredding gearboxes on a weekly basis

Mate had one running about 270bhp. Did a 14.1 at the Pod. On the road burned off quite a lot of unsuspecting cars!

Sorry, it is a lovely looking car, but I couldn't bring myself to give over my hard earned on a car that has more plastic body panels than steel!!

Must admit ive always hated any french cars, im a ford man through and through and other than that it'd have to be a bmw but these new meganes i love, well the sporty ones anyway. Yours looks superb, love it.

Must feel good to be driving a new reliable car which also has power, im one of these whos kinda stuck in the 80s/90s and loves rs turbos and cosworths but it gets to a point where you say to yourself why the fuck am i spunking so much cash at such an old car whichi'll only be too afraid to leave anywhere anyway.Must say im halfway there- went round a few ford dealers looking at focus st's the other day, but wel done on going for it and leaving the old cars behind.

LOL. Have you ever felt an Evo front wing?? Just because it is wafer thin and weighs about as much as a fag paper, therefore would crumple to nothing in an accident, does that make it a bad thing??

I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the build quality, now I've got rid of the famous Megane dash rattle, I can't fault it.

Nice

Get it re-mapped mate, you won't regret it, only got Stage 1 on mine at the moment, and it's plenty quick enough for the road.

Thanks. It does have one or two bits that niggle me. I've just had the wheels refurbed as one was badly kerbed. I put a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2's on there at the same time. Next I want fit an R26.R rear spoiler, with such a fat arse, these cars need a slightly larger spoiler in my opinion and retro-fitting the genuine .R spoiler is the best way. At this time, I plan to get the minor bodywork issues cleared up, then it will be perfect.
