As most of you will have read on here, at the weekend I had my first ever saloon car meeting, race one went very well....

Race 2 however went went well until this happened......

I will just let you see the short vid first then give you some background info mine is the camera car I am having a great battle with the integra for position then a scoobie comes along to lap us with disasterous results.

the honda was definitely not at fault, if any, it was the scoobies fault, as he squeezed by on the grass, something you wouldn't have expected...

 

maybe i wont race the 3dr then

i take it you both wernt blue flagged for the scooby?

what was the teg trying to do, get back on the racing line for the bend?

and i do belive that the scoob was about to take some paint too

what happened to the other 2 then, as they both shot out of view lol

 

I have seen the whole thing, ste messed a gear change and the the teg had him, ste was on the racing line so the teg made the move (ok in my book) then from nowhere the scoob came from behind the teg and tried to do the pair of em around the outside (bad move lol) lost it his ste ste hit the teg and the rest is history. The scoob said blues where out , but if your racing then the scoob needs to find a way through , Ste couldnt even see the scooby till it was along side lol, brown pants moment

My car is damaged on both sides......the reason..... the scooby ran into me knocking me into the honda in the vid it looks like I turn left but that was as a result of being hit by the scooby

I have a video that I can't upload at the mo from in the car pointing at me from the rollcage on the passengers side it clearly shows the scooby hitting me sending me into the integra

this 2nd vid from I believe a lap earlier shows how we were still battling and being lapped safely..the correct way

the scooby drive came over after the race and blamed me and my "ignorance" for the crash something wich I totally disagree with..

after a fluffled gear change in sunny I took the normal racing (correct) line towards the right hand side of the track and with a bootfull of integra could see nothing untill the teg moved to the left to pass me(I was aware of him and was letting him go through) it was then that I saw the scooby but was already on my way to the right and with an integra now on my left I had no where to go...

one last thing in non of the vids can a blue flag be seen......

he looked clearly faster than you both,didn't have anyone near him so why did he risk out braking two cars that were side by side..then try to go around the outside??

he should have waited then passed you both on the exit im(expert)o.

Shame about the car, looked good fun up until that bit. That Intergra sounded mental. Scooby looked in the wrong for going on the grass, would have thought that upset the car a little bit, maybe he was trying to correct. Still hope the car is ok, would like to see the whole video.

Unlucky and sorry that it may have ruined your first race weekend. It's clear that provided you stay on line it is entirely up to the car lapping you to make their way past safely. There are always times when the odd driver can make life difficult but very unusual. I hit a backmarker once when leading a race by a decent margin at silverstone once. Even though the blue flags were out it was my fault for trying to pass thinking he would just get out the way. An expensive lesson learnt and one race I didn't win. All the best with the rebuild and don't let it get to you. Cheers and well done!

 

guys the damage to my car is cosmeticly light it the wings have pulled out ok the bumper is damaged and it;s mountings but the nsf wheel took a big hit on the hondas osr wheel, my suspension is damaged but as yes I don't know to what extent the wheel and tyre(a new 888!!) is scrap..

thing is the scooby driver was putting it about in the paddock it was mine and the honda drivers fault!! the video evidence proves beyond doubt that he was wrong..

Im no racing expert, but there's no way in the world the scooby driver was going to make that move stick, three wide, on the outside, going into the complex, that was an accident waiting to happen. cant see how you or the integra driver can take any of the blame, he made the move far to late, and it was never going to happen. what he should have done is follow you and the integra through the complex to the hairpin, then made his move on the pit straight.

 

Aye mate, i wouldnt worry about it, scooby was at fault....clearly. Take your vids along on a handheld device and let some of the other drivers see it, he'll soon be made to look like a dangerous bstd.
